This week we’re starting a series on connecting with others. Based loosely on his book Everyone Communicates, Few Connect, John Maxwell shares four of what he calls his “disconnects.” These are areas early on in his leadership journey that kept him from connecting with the people he led. This series will help you become a leader who draws people into your ideas and captures them with your vision.

We’re also excited to introduce Chris Goede to you as the co-host throughout this series! Chris leads the Corporate Leadership Solutions team for the John Maxwell Enterprise. In this series, he and Mark discuss their own journeys from simply communicating to connecting.

Our BONUS resource for this series is the Don’t Just Communicate, Connect Worksheet, which includes fill-in-the-blank notes from John’s teaching. You can download the worksheet by clicking “Download the Bonus Resource” below.

  1. Thank you gentlemen for an insightful and thought provoking podcast. Thank you to Mark and Chris for being open to sharing their own personal learning so we, the community, can learn and integrate in our lives and move on upwards.
I have a question , based on my experience, on asking others for opinion. One of our leaders always keeps asking the opinions of others when handling situations . Most of the time, he uses the feedback as the solution to the situation. He does this so often that the team has begun to believe that he seems to know less about leading than initially thought. So, how do we know when asking the opinions of others is too much or too often? Appreciate your time and insight in this.
I listen to the podcast in Qatar and have always learned a lot from Dr Maxwell and now from both of you via this podcast.

Thank you for the work you do and God bless.

    1. Sivarajah, this is a great question that is worth discussing in the podcast! I’ll talk to the team about mentioning it in a future episode. Thank you for your question!
